NGO Vacancy - International Federation Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) : Watsan Coordinator

International Federation Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) on behalf of American Red Cross Tsunami Recovery Program (TRP) had been established to direct the organization’s response to the South Asia tsunami disaster. The TRP activities focus on integrated community recovery and preparedness interventions in tsunami affected countries in Asia and East Africa in collaboration with Red Cross and non-Red Cross partners. The Indonesia TRP Delegation operates from offices in Banda Aceh, Calang, Lamno
with liaison office in Jakarta. We are currently seeking for the following positions to be based in Banda Aceh with 12 months fixed term contract:


Watsan Coordinator (3 positions, 2 based in Banda Aceh with frequent visits to project sites and 1 based in Calang)
Your main responsibilities are to manage around 30 staff consisting of engineering specialists and community specialists; provide necessary training to supervised staff; maintain close coordination between engineering and community activities; manage consultants/ contractors; liaise with other national societies and coordinate with local governments such as PDAM and PU. S/he will also be responsible to oversee the completion of Amcross’ ongoing construction; plan and supervise any new engineering projects; supervise the construction work, including contributing to the procurement process.

The suitable candidates should have at least a graduate degree in engineering, management or any related disciplines with minimum of seven years of experience in related field; proven experience in planning and implementing projects, experience working with rural communities with participatory process, prior experience working in Aceh is preferred; experience in managing staff, contractors and consultants, fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, good understanding of database application and commitment to RC/RC movement.
