Lowongan NGO - CWS Indonesia : Water and Sanitation Advisor

CWS Indonesia (www.cwsindonesia. or.id),an international non-governmental relief, development and refugee assistance organization, is searching for a

Water and Sanitation Advisor (m/f)

Main Tasks:

- With
reference to the SPHERE minimum standards and other applicable standards such as those issued by BRR or the UN, contribute to planning, design and implementation of appropriate water supply and sanitation interventions in IDP camps and resettlement / relocations sites, particularly in Aceh and Nias.

- Draft
review drawings and technical specifications for any water supply and sanitation infrastructure to be built (such as gravity piped water systems, latrines, drainage etc.) and ensure that they are technically sounds and meet minimum standards

- Carry
out situation-, needs- and gap- assessments

- Conduct
training and capacity building, primarily for CWS staff. Work with CWS staff to develop training and capacity building interventions for local partners and communities using international best practice in community-based water and sanitation interventions. This includes ensuring the participation of the affected population in the management of all watsan and infrastructure
activities.

- Regularly
travel to the field offices and project location in Aceh and Nias. The advisor is expected to be mobile and to spend at least 50% or his / her time in the field (i.e. outside his / her duty station).


Qualifications

- Bachelor’s
degree (Masters preferred) in a relevant discipline such as civil engineering

- Minimum
5 years experience of implementing water and sanitation projects, incl. experience of implementing community-based water supply and sanitation projects

- Previous
work experience with an INGO preferred

- Able
to work within multi-disciplinary teams.

- Good
facilitation skills

- Proficiency
in written and spoken English;

- Computer
literacy in MS-Word, Excel;

- Good
interpersonal communication and report writing skills;

- Demonstrated
technical ability and sound judgment to work effectively with others at all levels;

- Firm
belief in teamwork, gender equality, participatory approach and sustainable development,
