Lowongan NGO - Accountant DBE 2 Makassar

An NGO-managed education project operating in seven provinces in
Indonesia seeks qualified candidates for Accountant (Based in Makassar) position.
The Accountant assists in all aspects of project accounting and financial management. He/she processes accounting transactions according to the general principles of accounting and home office field accounting manual. He/she must also follow all relevant USAID and local Indonesian government policies, procedures, and regulations. The Accountant reports to the Office and Finance Manager.

Job Responsibilities
§ Maintains or verifies petty cash transactions. Oversees reconciliation of balances at least once a week;
§ Enter accounting transactions into QuickBooks Software on daily basis;
§ Oversees maintenance of up-to-date bank balances and reconciliation of accounts on a monthly basis;
§ Processes travel advances for local and expatriate staff and follows up on outstanding balances;
§ Verifies and processes expense reports generated by the staff;
§ Prepare vouchers for payments for vendors, consultants and sub-contractors. Maintain payment for approval;
§ Verifies vendor & local subcontractor invoices and makes sure that all supporting documents are received and correct;
§ Verifies approvals and code transactions based on DBE 2’s chart of accounts;
§ Issues and sends checks and wire requests signed by the Provincial Coordinator to appropriate recipients;
§ Closes accounting transactions on the 20th of each month and sends electronic Quickbooks files and others financial supporting document to the Jakarta office for review on the 21st of each month;
§ Assists home office field accounting and project management staff in reconciling intercompany accounts.;
§ Responds without delays to home office accounting questions or concerns;
§ Verifies project inventory items twice a year to make sure that the value of all items booked in Quickbooks under inventory accounts matches with the total value indicated in the inventory report;
§ Maintains audit-ready accounting files;
§ Support and prepare financial documents for participant workshops/seminars/ trainings etc;
§ Performs periodic checks and audits on provincial office financial procedures, reviewing compliance with USAID regulations, budget ceilings, and on record keeping, reporting results to Office and Finance Manager and Provincial Coordinator.

Requirements
· Bachelor degree (3-4 years after High School) in accounting.
· Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting or financial management
· Speak and write English (minimum level 3 required).
· Basic knowledge of computer (Quickbooks is a plus).
· Knowledge of USAID policies and procedures is also a plus.
