We are currently operating in more than 60 countries. In Indonesia our main programs include Flood mitigation, Shelter and Livelihoods with our Field Office based in Banda Aceh, and further sub-offices in Jakarta and Yogyakarta.

Muslim Aid Yogyakarta is currently looking for a qualified and committed candidate to fill the following position:

1. Position title : Disaster Risk Reduction Staff (DRR)
Duty Station : Yogyakarta, Indonesia

General functions:
Under the overall supervision of Program Coordinator and the direct supervision of the DRR Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
1. Assist the DRR Coordinator in implementing project activities, working closely with communities, local government, local organizations and other Muslim Aid and YCAP representatives.
2. Conduct meetings in the village/sub- village to socialize the Disaster Risk Reduction program to beneficiary communities, ensuring the inclusion of vulnerable community members.
3. Ensure the community is well-informed about the objectives of Muslim Aid Disaster Risk Reduction program’s objectives and the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved.
4. Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGD), nurturing a sense of community inclusion in the process, ensuring the inclusion of women.
5. Assist the community in developing mitigation plan and assessing the feasibility of interventions
6. Act as a focal point for Muslim Aid in the field for Disaster Risk Reduction interventions and record and resolve complaints in accordance with the established protocol.
7. Assist the DRR Coordinator in establishing and maintaining an effective and accountable mechanism for selecting qualified training participants for the DRR program.
8. Assist the Program Coordinator in the preparing concise reports on monthly basis assessing the progress of the program.
9. Identify any constraints and issues, particularly in relation to the community, and implement a solution focused approach.
10. Assist in undertaking initiatives promoting Muslim Aid’s image and activities in the earthquake affected region.
11. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
• University degree
• Preferably with previous experience working in an international organization, UN and/or NGOs
• Previous experience in implementing DRR program, such as hazard mapping, risk analysis, first aid, etc.
• Willingness to spend a significant amount of time in the field to engage with the community and facilitating the community or stakeholders
• Ability to prepare quickly concise reports and input database
• Computer literate (word-processing, spreadsheet, e-mail exchange)
Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking, and punctual.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in team situations.
• Fluency in Javanese is required, English ability is advantageous

2. Position title : Microfinance Field Staff (MF)
Duty Station : Yogyakarta, Indonesia

General Functions:
Under the overall supervision of Program Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Microfinance Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
1. Assist the Microfinance Coordinator in implementing project activities, working closely with communities, local government, local organizations and other Muslim Aid and YCAP
representatives.
2. Conduct meetings in the village/sub- village to socialize the Microfinance program to beneficiary communities, ensuring the inclusion of vulnerable community members.
3. Ensure the community is well-informed about the objectives of Muslim Aid Microfinance program’s objectives and the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved.
4. Conduct needs assessments, surveys and analysis of the market to determine sustainable Microfinance strategy approaches in target villages.
5. Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGD), nurturing a sense of community inclusion in the process, ensuring the inclusion of women.
6. Assist the community in improving business management plan and assessing the feasibility of interventions
7. Act as a focal point for Muslim Aid in the field for Microfinance interventions and record and resolve complaints in accordance with the established protocol.
8. Assist the Microfinance Coordinator in establishing and maintaining an effective and accountable mechanism for selecting eligible clients for the Microfinance program and loan
distribution.
9. Assist the Program Coordinator in the preparing concise reports on monthly basis assessing the progress of the program.
10. Identify any constraints and issues, particularly in relation to the community, and implement a solution focused approach.
11. Assist in undertaking initiatives promoting Muslim Aid’s image and activities in the program region.
12. Collecting repayment from beneficiaries and deposit it to the bank on a daily basis
13. Responsible for proper, timely and accurate Microfinance report on a regular basis including maintaining an accountable record system in Microfinance
14. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
• University degree
• Preferably with previous experience working in an international organization, UN and/or NGOs
• Previous experience in implementing livelihood programs, such as revolving funds, assets replacement, SME’s activities, etc.
• Willingness to spend a significant amount of time in the field to engage with the community and facilitating the community or stakeholders
• Ability to prepare quickly concise reports and input database
• Computer literate (word-processing, spreadsheet, e-mail exchange)
• Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking, and punctual..
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in team situations.
