Job Vacancy : Program Coordinator
Job Summary : WatSan Action works with disadvantaged Indonesian communities in the urbanslum areas of Jakarta to improve water & sanitation conditions through educational activities and participatory projects.
The overall purpose of the Program Coordinator job is to provide sound leadership and
management for WatSan Action / Yayasan Tirta Lestari, which is comprised of the following four programs:

Public Health Promotion Program
• Clean Water Program
• Improved Sanitation Program
Solid Waste Management Program

Start date
: July 2009 (flexible)
Base location: Jakarta Selatan (Cilandak)
Report to: AdvisorWork hours: 8:00 – 16:30,
Monday – Friday (40 hours a week)
Salary: Rp.5,000,000/ month (negotiable, depending on applicant qualifications) Benefits:• Up to Rp.10,000,000 annually for health care expenses• Jamsostek• Income tax covered• 13th month salary given• 18 Annual Leave plus 5 Personal Leave days per year•
Job Responsibilities: Leadership and Management• Provide visionary leadership and sound decision-making to ethically achieve
goals;
• Manage, encourage and motivate team members; Ensure team morale;
• Prioritize effectively and be flexible to support team members where needed;
• Ensure policies and procedures are abided; Strictly keep office space and
electronic files organized coherently;
Strategic and Operational Planning• Guide and collaboratively develop and implement Annual Program Strategic
Plans
with each Program Officer; also, annually develop and implement an
Organizational Development Strategic Plan;
• Research, design and implement organizational improvements both at the
operational level and strategically;
• Ensure timely and effective delivery of outputs;•
emergency relief efforts;
Leverage and organize resources to respond appropriately to specific localOrganizational Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting2• Maintain and analyze organizational information systems, including Weekly
Program Reports, Monthly Program Progress Indicators, in line with Annual
Program Strategic Plans;
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of program outputs and in
achieving targets via Quarterly and Annual Reports to the Board and certain
donors;
• Compile monthly Newsletters to provide grounded updates sent out to
supporters;
Efficient Financial and Resource Management• Ensure program accounting and budgets use resources efficiently and stay
within budget;
• Oversee incoming donations, and follow-up procedures with Admin;
• Work with Office Administrator to ensure that all transactions are transparent
and accountable; Make certain that financial procedures and records are
externally audited satisfactorily;
• Manage all resources efficiently;
Communication and Fundraising• Prepare applications and deliverables for grants, sponsorship and program
donations;
• Update website regularly (minimum 1x month), and oversee other
communication materials including English-Indonesian translations;
• Assist in conducting awareness activities with both supporters and local
communities, including planning major events; Deliver professional conference
presentations
if necessary;
• Identify and regularly communicate effectively with sponsors, donors,
supporters, volunteers and our communities to deliver key messages and
further develop support for the organizations activities; Maintain a respectful
relations;
• Liaise and coordinate with government and other NGO’s to develop mutually
beneficial networks, particularly for the communities we serve;
• Maintain open communication with the Board;
Staff Capacity Building• Supervise 1 Admin, 4 Program Officers, and 1 Project Assistant;
• Facilitate weekly Team Meetings;
• Undertake regular staff performance appraisals, provide effective feedback and
design and carry out individual staff development programs;Any other reasonable request from the Advisor or Board.
Job Qualifications:• Bachelors, or Masters level education in a relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years experience
• Team management
experience and strong leadership skills
• Proficient in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
• Commendable initiative, independence, integrity, and reliability
• Logical and competent decision-making skills
• Creative thinker and strong communicator
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet3• Previous experience in community motivation and development
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small team
• Understanding and sensitivity of social and cultural diversities
• Knowledgeable of Indonesian government logistics is desirable
• Experience in public health and environmental sanitation is desirable
